1. Who we are

converttopdfforfree.com ("the Service", "we", "us") is an independent project operated from Hasselt, Belgium, started in 2026. The Service is run by a single maker and reachable at stasjamie@gmail.com.

By using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The service

We provide free, browser-based tools that convert and edit PDF and image files. All conversions run locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. We do not upload, store, or process your files on our servers.

Because processing happens on your own device, performance depends on your browser, device memory, and file size. We do not guarantee that every file will convert successfully.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to: processing files you do not have the right to process, attempting to bypass technical limitations, automated scraping, or interfering with the operation of the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content of the files you process and for complying with copyright, privacy, and any other applicable law.

4. No account, no payment

The Service is free to use and does not require an account. We do not sell subscriptions and do not process payments. If a third-party advertising network is shown on the site, your interaction with those ads is governed by the ad provider's own terms.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, source code, and branding are the property of the operator. You may use the Service for personal and commercial document conversion, but you may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service itself without written permission.

You retain all rights to the files you process. We never claim ownership over your content.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will be perfect for every input file.

Always keep a copy of the original file before converting and verify the output before relying on it for important purposes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hasselt, Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
