Rotate scanned PDF pages

Fix sideways or upside-down scans without re-scanning. Rotate any selection of pages by 90°, 180° or 270° and download a corrected PDF. Useful when a scanner picked the wrong orientation for a few pages of a long document. Everything runs locally.

How to rotate pages in a scanned PDF

  1. Add the PDF. Drop the scanned PDF into the tool. The page count is detected so you know how many pages you can target.
  2. Pick the pages to rotate. Type the page numbers — for example '3, 5, 7' or a range like '4-9'. Leave it empty to rotate the whole document at once.
  3. Choose the rotation angle. 90° clockwise fixes a page that is lying on its right side. 270° (or -90°) fixes a page lying on its left side. 180° flips an upside-down page.
  4. Download the rotated PDF. Click Rotate. A new PDF is generated locally and offered for download with the rotation applied.

Typical situations

Mixed-orientation duplex scan

Some pages of a duplex scan come out rotated when the original was fed sideways. Rotate just those pages by 180° and the document reads top-to-bottom throughout.

Phone-scanned document with a wide table

If you photographed a wide page in landscape, it appears sideways inside an A4 PDF. Rotate that one page 90° and the table reads correctly without resizing.

Old archive scan with random orientations

Old scans often mix portrait and landscape. Run the tool once per orientation group, or fix individual pages with comma-separated numbers.

PDF that displays fine but prints sideways

Some viewers respect a PDF's display rotation but printers ignore it. Permanently rotating the affected pages with this tool fixes the print output.

Troubleshooting

Rotation flipped the wrong way

If the page is now upside down, you applied 90° instead of 270° (or vice versa). Re-run the tool on the original PDF with the opposite angle — rotation is non-destructive at the page level, but stacking rotations on the output doubles them.

Page rotates but text becomes selectable in the wrong direction

That happens when the underlying text layer rotates with the visible page. For document workflows it usually does not matter; if it does, re-export the PDF from the source application instead of rotating after the fact.

The tool says my page numbers are out of range

Double-check the absolute page count shown after upload — some viewers show a 'page label' (e.g. 'iv') instead of the absolute index. Use the absolute index here.

I need to rotate every page the same way

Leave the page-number field empty and pick an angle. The tool will apply the rotation to the entire document in one pass.
